After over 20 years of service, the Dilworth Fire Department retired the 1980’s era Ford Pumper. The Fire Department with the assistance of the Dilworth City Hall were able to secure a buyer for the pumper last month and the Northrop Fire Department took possesion of the pumper.
Northrop Fire Department was able to upgrade their 1960′s American LaFrance pumper. The following photos and letter were provided to Dilworth Fire Chief Kennedy by the Northrop Mayor Thomas Wakey.
Dear Dilworth Fire Chief Kurt;
Thank you for the fine truck. My fire fighters really liked it. I am sending you some pictures of how we are progressing on the truck and the new air packs with the tree tanks. We would also like to thank you for the wonderful lunch that you served us.
We had no problems exchanging the battery at Napa. Also we put some cheater steps on so us fat chubby guys have a easier time getting in. We took the air pack brackets off the old truck. They work great on the Ford truck to hold extra tanks.
I met with area State Representatives on the Volunteere Incentive Act. All were very happy to help the volunteer firemen.
Thanks again to you and your firefighters.
Sincerely,
Thomas Wakey
Secretary of the Northrop Fire Department
Mayor of the City of Northrop
