Moorhead firefighters work at the scene after extinguishing a mobile home fire at 150 Lancaster Drive in north Moorhead early this morning.
Dilworth fire fighters were called out to assist Moorhead firefighters who braved the cold late Monday night to battle a fire to a Moorhead mobile home. All of the occupants escaped without injury.
The call was dispatched at 11:15 p.m. Monday and authorities responded to 150 Lancaster Drive in north Moorhead where a fire is suspected to have started under the mobile home in the rear section, said Moorhead Fire Chief Joel Hewitt.
The residents of the mobile home were able to exit without injury and no firefighters were injured in extinguishing the blaze, he said.
Firefighters continued to work well past 12:30 a.m., looking for hot spots. The fire had already been declared under control, but smoke could be seen slowly rising from the mobile home while firefighters worked.
The fire marshal arrived shortly after midnight to investigate the cause of the fire, Hewitt said. Fire crews from Fargo also assisted Moorhead while The Salvation Army was on scene to provide relief support for Moorhead, Dilworth and Fargo Fire and Police.
The American Red Cross provided emergency food, clothing and shelter for a family of two displaced by the fire.
