Questions arise about volunteer firefighters’ residency

Some cities in central Minnesota are struggling with the issue of how close their volunteer firefighters must live to the fire hall.

Cities are trying to strike a balance between requiring a reasonable response time for firefighters and trying to attract quality volunteers.

Super WalMart donates to Dilworth Fire Department

Super WalMart opened March 7th and the Dilworth Fire Department received a check for $1250.00.

WalMart donated money to several city entities including the fire and police departments.

Dilworth holds benifit for fire victims

Approximately 600 people showed up at the Dilworth Community Center for a pancake breakfast to benefit the family of Randy Harmes and Cindy Ternes. In late January the  house where the couple lived with their five children was damaged by fire.

Ford Pumper goes to Northrop, MN

Northrop Ford PumperAfter over 20 years of service, the Dilworth Fire Department retired the 1980’s era Ford Pumper. The Fire Department with the assistance of the Dilworth City Hall were able to secure a buyer for the pumper last month and the Northrop Fire Department took possesion of the pumper.
